A Laugh And A Tear--------sneek preview
From my grandpa to granddaughter, aunts and uncles in between, There's limericks, letters, stories too, The likes you've never seen! Words to songs, poems and prose, even e-mail from 'cuz' Sue; She was so funny, I just had to share her mail with you. Words of wisdom, words of fun, 'Cause laughter's good for everyone; Words of joy and of woe, Words I feel the world must know.(Even words about my beau) Words from Mother and from me, Also from my sis, Carrie. A family heritage, I guess, of jotting down a rhyme, Although it comes so easy, couldn't sell them for a dime! And so this legacy is left from our family tree, Enjoy the words you find herein, of course, most are from me.

Meeting Melba - aka "OMI"
Melba's love of music naturally took her in the path of poetry and prose. She began writing poetry at the age of thirteen. Now relocated in the West from Georgia, she has agressively pursued her two loves of music and writing. She completed her first musical CD, "OMI Sings Of Love", in 2007 while simultaneously working on her book, "A Laugh And A Tear". Omi, pronounced oo-me, is a name given by her first grandchild who is following in her footsteps. Melba sings with two groups -a jazz ensemble and a ladies octet- performing at local health care facilities and country clubs. On Sundays you will find her as a volunteer for an assisted living facility of a local hospital leading music in the church service.
